The idea of the Priesthood can be confusing because it is a big idea and there are many different parts to understand. Even when we have learned a lot about it, there is more to understand. This Lesson Plan and Collection of Quotes can help sort out some more of it. Whether you are planning to teach a lesson or not, the Sources and the Diagram can be helpful in learning more about or reviewing how the parts of the Priesthood function together.
Lesson Plan
- Briefly explains authority, offices, keys, authorization, ordinances, callings, and power and how they are connected.
- Divided into 8 parts designed to be given by members of the class with no prior preparation.
- Explains the diagram. (Class members add a word strip to the diagram and refer to the diagram while explaining their part.)
Quotes & Sources
- A great resource, even without the lesson part, for learning about or reviewing the Priesthood.
- Includes a reference or quote supporting each point made in the lesson.
Diagram
- Shows how parts of the Priesthood function together. Great for visual learners.
- It’s most useful with some explanation, but it can be used on its own or with this lesson plan. (A good resource to refer to anytime discussing the Priesthood.)
- Includes a filled in diagram, a fill-in-the-blank diagram, and a numbered diagram (to use with the wordstrips for the lesson).
